This April 2017, Sloan Advisory Group, Inc. (SAGI) turns 8. And what an amazing 8 years it has been. Time moves. But is it moving faster in these last few years? Or has it always moved at the same pace? During these last 8 years (and for some of you, these last 13 years), we have experienced so much together. We have seen each other grow, age and live life. For me as a personal trusted advisor, this is what it’s about – relationships, connectivity, retirement, joy and confidence in the plans we make.
“Success is not an accident. Success is a choice.”
– Stephen Curry
At the beginning of each year, I choose a meaningful and powerful quote, like the one above, and place it on display in my home. I want to see it every day. It is a reminder of what’s possible and what we can accomplish.
2016 was a big year. SAGI moved forward as a Registered Investment Adviser, a 21st century financial planning firm that is a full time fiduciary for clients. As a fiduciary, we are always working on your behalf. You are sure to hear more about fiduciaries this year and you should feel really good to know you are working with one.
Also, you should feel good to know that you are now working with a Certified Financial Planner™. The CFP® certification process, administered by the CFP Board, identifies to the public those individuals who have been authorized to use the CFP® certification marks in the U.S., having met rigorous professional standards and agreed to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence in working with clients. This is the gold standard of designations for financial advisors and I’m really excited to share this news with you.
Introducing Our New Look
To honor our growth I felt the time had definitely come to bring SAGI’s website and connection to you, our clients, into the 21st century. Over the past few months I have been hard at work with the aid of a web design company to bring the website to life in a way that felt authentic both to me as a person, and to the work we do here at SAGI. No stone was left unturned in our efforts to ensure the new site both looked and functioned as beautifully as possible to provide you with a seamless user experience.
We worked with a talented and creative team, Hannah and Lee of Futher Bound. Hannah is an inspiration and has been helping her clients bring to life the vision of who they are and what they do in story form. I’m really proud of the work we did together and the story we tell. And the photographs added a whole level of fun to our new site.
Explore Our New Website
There is so much to explore and enjoy, and I hope you will spend some time familiarizing yourself with all the changes. There are a few things though that I particularly encourage you to check out:
- Our new and interesting blog (be sure to visit often, the content here will be interesting and original, with new articles posted every other week).
- Important technology links for clients (yes, how to check your balances and what you own).
- Our curated list of great free resources (we are working every day to make this better, relevant and more meaningful).
- The press page, where you will find a few lifestyle pieces, penned by me and written for my local paper. One of my particular favorites tells of my experience at a Tony Robbins conference, where I walked on fire.
- Subscribe to our brand new e-newsletter, offering monthly insights into the financial world, current SAGI news, and a round-up of each month’s blog posts.
Let’s Be Social
If you haven’t already, we hope you will consider following us on Facebook and LinkedIn. Our Facebook in particular will now be playing a particularly important role in our outreach efforts, as we strive to curate a feed that provides both useful and engaging content covering financial topics, as well as lifestyle and behind-the-scenes updates on the workings of SAGI.
Our client base covers a wide range of ages and life situations, so our Facebook content will provide something for everyone. If you use either of these social media platforms we’d love to connect with you there. Please do head over to our accounts and say hello!
Here’s to the Future
I’m optimistic about what’s ahead. And I’m looking forward to celebrating many more years together.
May we all touch people in our lives and may the impact be ever lasting.
As always, I look forward to your call.
